I am a graphic designer based in Canberra, specialising in publications design and layout (and sometimes editing) for a wide range of clients. My work isn't restricted to book and report design—I have experience in digital design, branding, exhibitions, posters, stationery, way-finding, banners and more.
I have an honours degree in Linguistics and English from the ANU, and have excellent editorial skills, as I was trained as an editor in my first working role. I understand that clear and consistent language—coupled with text readability—are critical to good visual communication. I enjoy designing publications because of my love of books, type and layout. Words and pictures are my stock in trade and I bring my designer's eye to every project I work on.
As well as being a designer, I'm also a musician. For the past six years I've been travelling to schools across Australia as part of the Musica Viva in Schools program, presenting live music to primary and secondary students in the group Doctor Stovepipe. Music has been shown to have an incredible impact on developing brains in children and I really enjoyed doing this important work. It was a complete contrast from design work—meeting teachers, students and their communities, and seeing more of Australia.
